I used to work at a Chinese restaurant in Illinois (coincidentally the only one around that wasn't owned by Koreans). The owner was a Chinese woman and a white guy, and the cooks were mostly Mexican. The menu was mostly Chinese food, but with a few Mexican items, and sometimes pasta. The white guy, who we can call "he tai duo jiu" (drinks too much alcohol) told me one day that the store would be closing the next weekend. This made sense, since the construction in front of the store made it nearly impossible to get too. It turned out, hemeant to say "the store will be closed next weekend". I got a phone call from another employee asking why I wasn't at work. When we figure out the confusion, I just said that I've made new plans and couldn't come in anymore.
The moral of the story: If your drunk boss has that disease that causes his toenails to be yellow and insists on wearing flip-flops, don't assume he means what he is saying.
